Successful „Systems Biology of Mammalian Cells" Conference 2026 at the Baroque Palace Mannheim
The 10th „Systems Biology of Mammalian Cells" (SBMC2026) conference, held from 4–5 May at the Mannheim Baroque Palace, was a resounding success. International researchers and early-career scientists from numerous countries gathered in Mannheim to discuss current developments and innovative approaches in systems biology and systems medicine.
The conference featured high-quality expert talks, interdisciplinary exchange, and offered multiple networking opportunities. Central to the event were new insights under the conference theme „From Data and Models to E-Health", encompassing fields such as cell biology, pathophysiology, data generation and analysis, AI and E-Health, digital twins, and translational medicine.
On Day 1, our conference chair and LiSyM-Cancer II C-TIP-HCC Coordinator Prof. Steven Dooley opened the conference, followed by a warm welcome by our LiSyM-Cancer II director Prof. Beat Müllhaupt. During the opening ceremony, the MTZ Award was once again awarded to two outstanding early-career researchers in the field of systems medicine.

The special atmosphere of the historic palace provided a remarkable framework for scientific dialogue and international collaboration. Organizers and participants drew a consistently positive conclusion, emphasizing the high scientific quality and valuable personal exchange of the event.
The SBMC 2026 once again underlined the increasing importance of systems biology research for medical progress in the era of Big Data and AI.
We extend our gratitude to all participants, speakers, and partners who contributed to the success of the 10th SBMC 2026 and made it, once again, a unique conference.
Welcome by Prof. Beat Müllhaupt.
